The loop

Yawn does not join calls, mine a calendar, or send work anywhere. It gives one person a clear recording boundary, private notes during the meeting, and a local summary afterwards.

Private by default
The important boundaries stay visible.
The app makes its limits part of the working surface. A missing or withheld part of the record is stated plainly instead of being smoothed into a confident note.

Summary you can check
The generated note links decisions, follow-ups, ideas, and questions back to the retained transcript. Unsupported outcomes are left out.
Honest activity
Recording and transcription state are shown only when the local app can confirm them.

This is a test build for real, consented use on Apple-silicon Macs. The limits below are product facts, not fine print.
No automatic sharing
Yawn does not invite a bot, connect a calendar, create tasks, or share meeting content on your behalf.
No promise of completeness
A transcript can be incomplete. The app keeps the source available and states when a part of the record cannot be trusted.
No substitute for consent
Yawn asks for an explicit check before recording. You remain responsible for getting the consent your meeting requires.

This internal-alpha installer starts with Apple speech when it is ready on a supported Mac. Downloaded speech models and the separate note model are optional.

Download Yawn 0.6.5Apple speech requires macOS 26 and its language files. Other supported Macs can use the 464 MB or 1.61 GB speech model. Generated notes use a separate 8.06 GB local model. You can manage these downloads in Settings; Yawn verifies its downloaded models before use.

Record is ready without a Settings detour.
After launch, Yawn checks system-audio access on its own when the microphone is already allowed, and keeps an Allow system audio control beside Record when that check still needs you.
